He played percussion in the orchestra, tenor in the choir, and Mungojerrie in an ill-advised production of <em>Cats<\/em>. While no longer performing, his love of music has translated into a career of arts administration and measurement. He began his career at Lincoln Center as an artistic programmer. He holds a doctorate from the Warwick Business School for his research about the UK City of Culture festival.
