See the full list of participants below.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-coral-background-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/americanorchestras.org\/20-participants-selected-for-league-of-american-orchestras-first-orchestra-personnel-management-intensive\/\">Read the most recent press release<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The League of American Orchestras\u2019 <strong>Orchestra Personnel Management Intensive<\/strong>, in collaboration with Arts Administration programs at the O\u2019Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University, is a four-day, deep-dive professional development program designed to provide practical and real-world knowledge and skills transfer to participants. Curriculum topics will include musician management and hiring, collective bargaining agreements, the audition and tenure process, building inclusive cultures, conflict resolution, employment law, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn key skills and gain expertise in orchestra personnel management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build leadership capacity to strengthen their orchestra&#8217;s personnel operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Join a dynamic group of professionals to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build lasting relationships<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h2 id=\"at-455680\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>Program&nbsp;Overview<\/strong><\/h2><div id=\"ac-455680\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>The Orchestra Personnel Management Intensive will introduce&nbsp;participants to&nbsp;the real-life opportunities and challenges that orchestra personnel managers face today and highlight the creative, adaptive, and community-oriented skills that they need to nurture and support their creative workforce and build artistic capacity. The course includes individual reflection and sharing with peer groups as well as open discussion and practical scenario exercises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program is geared to people new to and\/or interested in advancing in a career in orchestra personnel management, especially orchestra personnel managers of smaller-budget orchestras and orchestra personnel staff of larger-budget orchestras, as well as to those more broadly interested in pursuing an orchestra administrative career that includes personnel management. Having played the violin since the age of 6, Bey&nbsp;has a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Loyola University New Orleans and a Masters in Violin Performance from The University of Texas at Austin. Bey was a Second Violinist with the Austin Symphony for 10 years before moving into Orchestra Administration. Prior to joining the LA Phil, Bey served as the Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Houston Symphony for 4 years. She moved to Los Angeles as the Associate Director of Orchestra Personnel in 2018. With over two decades of experience in orchestra administration, she previously served as Director of Orchestra Personnel for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (2007\u20132017) and as Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Virginia Symphony (2005\u20132007). Her background also includes working with the Tanglewood Music Center of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and is an alumna of the League of American Orchestras\u2019 Essentials of Orchestra Management program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beth holds deep roots in music as a bassoon performer. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree magna cum laude from Boston University, a Master of Music degree and Performer\u2019s Certificate from the Indiana University School of Music, Bloomington, and a Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory.
